Job Type: Purchase Ledger Assistant

Salary: £20,000 - £21,000 depending on experience

Working Hours: 8.30am – 5pm Mon-Fri

Location: London

Holiday: 20 days per year + Bank Holidays

Job Purpose
The main duties of the Purchase Ledger Assistant includes entering and coding invoices, reconciling supplier statements and responding to ad hoc requests from other functions within the organisation.

Reporting
Reporting to the Purchase Ledger Manager, accountable for the purchase ledger process. Purchase ledger supports the finance team, underpinning the wider financial stability of the business through their robust processes and systems.

Main duties and responsibilities
• Matching, checking and coding invoices
• Working out VAT payments
• Setting up of new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details
• Reconciliation of supplier statements
• Filing invoices
• Assisting in process & system changes
• Managing petty cash
• Data entry
• Being first point of contact for all relevant enquiries
• Maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers
• Reviewing systems and processes and making improvements where necessary
Experience, knowledge, skills/ability
• 1 year experience in Purchase Ledger and General Bookkeeping
• Practical knowledge of Purchase Ledger systems, Eye-Share ideal
• Practical knowledge of Accounting systems, Sage 50 ideal
• Excellent communication skills
• Solid team working skills
• Self-disciplined and efficient, with a flexible and proactive nature
• Experienced in Excel and Microsoft office packages
• Ability to work to tight deadlines
• Property/Construction background
