Senior Site Manager

Salary: Dependent on experience

Working Hours: 8.30am – 5pm Mon-Fri

Location: Based on site in Frome

Holiday: 20 days per year + Bank Holidays

As Site Manager for AHCS projects your role will encompass the overseeing of day to day running of the project. Works are to be completed on time, on budget and in line with Health and Safety standards. You will report to the Operations Manager for AHCS.

Role and responsibility:
– Supplying information to resolve any on-site issues
– Manage direct employees and subcontract labour
– Manage material supply call-offs
– Promote and ensure the quality of sub-contract work as projects progress
– Involvement in subcontract pre-let packages along with Quantity Surveyor
– Identifying areas for improvement (if required)
– Review construction drawings
– Liaise with AHCS Design co-ordinator & consultants when required to overcome site problems
– Ensure the H&S and presentation of sites are compliant and to a level acceptable to the client
– H&S audits and ensure all RAMS are reviewed and up to date at all times
– Provide support/advise for construction programming
– Monitor actual site progress to the latest programme and report back to Head of Operations
– Monitor outstanding information required to complete the works and ensuring this is provided in sufficient time to avoid delay being caused to the site works
– Resolve design and building problems
– Conduct site progress meetings
– Attend design team meetings
– Maintain client relations
– Continuous overview of all subcontractors to ensure that build targets are met
– Providing site feedback to allow monthly project reporting

Candidate profile and qualifications:
– 10+ years’ experience working for a Main Contractor or Residential Developer in a similar capacity
– Experience in delivering Housing scheme in the region of 150+ Dwellings
– HND or degree in civil or structural engineering, construction management or project management preferred
– SMSTS essential
– CSCS essential
– First aid essential
– Experience of working with multiple subcontractors
– Experience with construction in house building
– Full clean UK Driving Licence

– The ability to manage & co-ordinate multiple subcontractors
– PC Literate
– Good level of commercial awareness
– Excellent problem-solving skills
– Excellent communication, presentation, management and negotiation skills
– Experience with all trades – groundworks, steelworks, electrical, mechanical, carpenters, general trades
– Ability to interpret drawings and identify any issues or problems with the design
– Experience with construction programmes with the ability to monitor and assess site progress
– Good organisational skills
– Self-motivated, driven and a team player
