Acorn Bristol submits application for new homes in Wedmore, Somerset

April 9, 2018

Acorn Property Group’s Bristol office has submitted an application for fifty-five new homes in Wedmore, Somerset. Wedmore Parish Council, as joint applicants with the landowner, were granted outline planning permission for the site. They had identified a requirement for affordable housing in the area and subsequently wanted to progress with a scheme to meet this demand, which Acorn now hope to deliver.

The new development, named Cross Farm, will be a collection of  1, 2, 3 & 4 bedroom homes and will include affordable housing. Situated in the heart of Wedmore, the new homes will enjoy spectacular views of the Mendips and Cheddar Gorge and are a short walk from the local shops, amenities and the village school.

Robin Squire, Regional Managing Director of Acorn Bristol, commented “Careful consideration has been given to all aspects of Cross Farm to ensure it demonstrates our ability to provide high-quality design while remaining considerate to its rural surroundings. We are pleased to submit a plan which will meet the needs of the local community.”

Subject to approval, work is anticipated to commence autumn/winter 2018.
