Based in our North London Office, our Accounts team is looking for an enthusiastic and positive VAT Assistant Manager.

With offices in London, Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter and Cornwall we specialise in bespoke developments to meet the local community’s needs.

As the VAT Assistant Manager, you will assist with different VAT matters in the business, from VAT returns and registrations to HMRC checks. You will also help with queries regarding the VAT position/ treatment of different projects and transactions for various companies within our group, including construction and development.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years experience in a similar role and to have worked with Sage 50 Accounts.

This is a full time role – Monday to Friday (flexible time policy – combination of office/home working)

Key responsibilities within the role:

  • Assist with monthly and quarterly VAT return preparation and submission
  • Assist with VAT registrations
  • Assist with queries regarding VAT position/ treatment
  • Assist with CIS returns and registrations
  • Support the wider tax team with ad-hoc matters

Skills and experience required:

  • Strong knowledge of VAT and CIS compliance
  • Property experience highly desirable
  • Computer literate with experience of MS Office (particularly Excel)
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated and capable of taking ownership of tasks
