Acorn & Stride Treglown Cycling Sportive 2019

June 17, 2019

In celebration of Cycling UK’s Bike Week, last week Acorn Blue and Stride Treglown hosted the third annual #AcornStrideSportive – helping raise money for It’s In The Bag, a testicular cancer awareness charity based in the South West helping those affected by testicular cancer.

The day consisted of a 50 mile road ride and mountain bike course around Cornwall, starting and finishing at the Lanhydrock Hotel and Golf Club, Bodmin. Despite the rainy weather, spirits were far from dampened as our 30 plus riders briskly made their way around the routes.

To finish the day, the group congregated back at the Lanhydrock Hotel to take part in a charity raffle with some well deserved dinner and drinks. Raising a total of £650, the group did extremely well in helping support It’s In The Bag.

Here’s what our Group Planner Director Duncan Powell had to say: “It was a fantastic event despite the horrendous weather. Indeed, the rain was so heavy it actually became comical, with all the riders embracing it with humour and a real sense of achievement. Furthermore, as someone who has been through testicular cancer, being able to raise money for It’s In The Bag was an honour and a privilege. We hope to grow the event next year and ensure it becomes an annual fixture for cyclists in the property industry in the South West. Finally, thanks to our key partners for their help and raffle prizes – BMW, St Michael’s Hotel and Spa, and The Headland Hotel Newquay to name but a few”.

Thanks to all our organisers, sponsors and to those who donated raffle prizes! If you would like to make a donation to this fantastic charity then please click here.
