Discovering a new life in the vibrant city of Bristol

February 26, 2020

After renting in London and almost buying in Woolwich, south-east London, first-time buyer Jessica Leung decided to make the move to the cultural hub of Bristol. Discovering our Brandon Yard development in its early stages in 2018, Jessica “fell in love with the building immediately” and decided that her house search was going to take a new direction.

Fast forward a year and Jessica now owns her “dream home”, a luxurious two-bedroom apartment at our award-winning Brandon Yard. Located on Bristol’s iconic harbourside, Jessica is thrilled she picked Bristol – a cosmopolitan city with so much on offer, she says, plus all the perks and none of the stress of London. “The cost of living is also a lot less,” explains Jessica. “Being based in the city centre means I can walk everywhere and bus fares are really reasonable.”

Her job as a management consultant is still based in London but Jessica has found a way to make it work. Thanks to the recent electrification of the Great Western lines, Jessica’s journey from Bristol Parkway to Paddington now takes just 68 minutes, almost the same amount of time as it would have taken from Woolwich to central London, she says.

Jessica’s been living in her new Brandon Yard home since September 2019, and she’s enjoying all the possibilities that come with being moments away from the city centre of Bristol. “My home at Brandon Yard is so close to Clifton, which is filled with chic boutiques, cool cafes and beautiful buildings – I love that I can walk out of my front door and be in the heart of the city.”

Having completed six half-marathons in the last year, keen runner Jessica also loves being based on the river. Her daily jog along the Harbourside Sports Trail allows her to take in the scenic views of the floating harbour and she has also taken up paddle boarding.

Buying off-plan gave Jessica a chance to watch the development’s journey from inception through to completion. She has even created an Instagram account to document her story, which has gained over 4.5k followers. “I’m getting such great feedback from people – my most popular posts are the ones that really showcase the building’s industrial features,” she says. “The windows in particular are a big hit. It’s just great that people seem to love Brandon Yard as much as I do.”

In partnership with Galliard Homes, Brandon Yard is a collection of fifty-eight luxury 1, 2 & 3 bedroom homes. Featuring the refurbishment and conversion of two Grade II listed stone buildings, together with carefully-designed new build apartments, Brandon Yard marks the last piece in the jigsaw of the regeneration of this part of the city’s floating harbour.

Proving exceptionally popular, over 90% of homes at Brandon Yard have now sold. There is a selection of 2 bedroom apartments and 3 bedroom penthouses still available – get in touch today to avoid disappointment! The Marketing Suite is open on Saturdays, 10am – 4pm or you can call the team on 0117 244 0400 to arrange an appointment.
