This month we were thrilled to give Year 12 and 13 construction students at Falmouth School the opportunity to have a guided tour of our exciting new coastal development, The Liner. Situated overlooking the award-winning Gyllyngvase Beach, The Liner comprises fifty-three luxury beachfront apartments and penthouses boasting spectacular ocean views.
We welcomed 8 students who are currently studying the BTEC First diploma in Construction and the Built Environment. The aim of the trip was to bring to life some of the building processes that the students have been learning about in the classroom in preparation for their exams. Following a health and safety induction, the students spent the day learning about different construction techniques including as pre-cast concrete panels, structural metal beams and deep piles.
Falmouth College construction teacher, Alex French, said “seeing such impressive developments in person will really help with our course and gives our students a taste of what working on site would be like”.
Thank you for joining us Falmouth School, it was a great day for all and we wish the students the best of luck in their upcoming exams!
