Get to know to the team at Brandon Yard

October 12, 2018

We caught up with Sheralyn and Rachel from our sales team at our Bristol Harbourside development, Brandon Yard to find out what it is that they love about the development and why the Harbourside is such a fantastic place to live. Here’s what they had to say…

What do you like about working at Brandon Yard?

S: Without a doubt, the people! We get to meet people from all different walks of life who are looking to buy here and I love hearing all of their very individual stories. I also love how close we are to Wapping Wharf and Cargo – I love meeting friends there after work for a bite to eat.

R: I love the location, it’s a fabulous short stroll from the car park at Millenium Square, I usually grab my morning latte from the Spin Bar then walk along the river into work! I really enjoy watching the paddle boarders, ferries and boats that go past, it’s such a tranquil setting!

What do you most like about the homes at Brandon Yard?

S:  The quality of the finish will be fantastic here and I can’t wait to see the huge arched windows with feature window seats in Oculus House which have been brought back to life sympathetically to its original design. And of course, the location is fabulous!

R: I like the fact that they have stayed true to the original buildings and that even New Retort House, despite being a “new build” rather than a renovation has been developed to adopt the “look and feel” of the original listed buildings, it is all very in-keeping with its surroundings without losing the authenticity of their past.

What’s your favourite home and why?

R: My favourite plot, that is still available is B3 on the ground floor of Oculus House. The two double bedrooms are positioned to the front overlooking the landscaped gardens and offering glimpses of the floating harbour, which is really lovely plus it benefits from allocated parking.

S: My favourite plot has to be Plot A28 due to the beautiful views. I love the open plan living space with full-length windows which offer a real sense of space and light and the fact that you could sit on your balcony and look out over the gardens, the SS Great Britain and the water – what more could you ask for?!

If someone is interested in purchasing at BY how can you help?

S: We are happy to speak to anyone who is interested in Brandon Yard to see whether there are plots which suit their requirements and budget. Lots of purchasers still don’t know much about the government Help to Buy Scheme and we can discuss this and recommend financial advisors to help them along their way. It’s a great feeling to be able to assist someone in buying the home they’ve been dreaming of!

R: We can show them the floorplans in detail, show them examples of the standard of the interior with regard to kitchens and shower rooms and run through the specification of the buildings and available plots and answer questions regarding lease length and service charges, we can also chat through the reservation process and Help to buy if helpful for them. We can also recommend people to help with financial discussions.

Why do you think the harbourside is a great place to live?

S: I love the open space, the bars and restaurants and it’s within walking distance of so many other things in Bristol – Clifton, Park Street, Millennium Square, Cabot Circus – all on your doorstep!

R: Well the water outlook speaks for itself, but in general you are within easy walking distances of the city’s extensive amenities, shops, theatres, museums! There are some great new restaurants and coffee shops close by and what better view than the SS Great Britain.

Favourite places to eat near BY?

S: My favourite place to eat near Brandon Yard is Broken Dock – such a relaxed and friendly vibe, great views, the service is always great and their pork belly is just delicious!

R: Spoke and Stringer and the Spin Bar quite often do a delicious smelling lunchtime BBQ and you can’t beat it for an inexpensive cup of coffee.

Favourite things to do in Bristol?

S: There are so many lovely places for dinner and cocktails! There always seems to be something going on in Bristol but my favourite event is The Downs Festival at the end of the summer. I go with friends every year and we always have such a lovely time.

R: I love visiting the M Shed and the SS Great Britain with my children. We The Curious is also another fantastic day out with the family.
