Meet the Team at Cross Farm

August 26, 2020

As part of our ‘Meet the Team’ series, we’d like to introduce you to Tom, Sales Negotiator at our new rural development, Cross Farm. Located in the picturesque village of Wedmore, Somerset, Tom talks to us about his favourite parts of the homes, the best places to visit in the local area and how he can help you in your search for a new home at Cross Farm.

1) What do you like about working at Cross Farm?
Cross Farm is far from your typical new homes development. Every property has a unique feel and character which challenges the perception of a new build home.

2) What do you like most about the homes being built?
I like how they have flipped the way a conventional property is designed. Up until now, people looking for a 3 bedroom home might have had to upsize to a 4 bedroom home to gain a larger living room. Cross Farm has changed that, instead we offer 3 generous double bedrooms with a large living area to match. In addition, I love the large floor to ceiling windows and vaulted ceilings which give the homes a wonderful feeling of light and space.

3) What’s your favourite home and why?
My favourite home definitely has to be Plot 51. The open plan kitchen/living/dining area is a great sociable space however if you are looking for a little more privacy, the separate ‘snug’ is ideal. Upstairs you cross a bridge (who doesn’t want a bridge in their home!?) to the main/principal bedroom which benefits from a spectacular vaulted ceiling and spacious en-suite. If that isn’t enough, the uninterrupted views of the adjacent orchard and Mendip Hills can’t be beaten!

4) Why do you think this is a great place to live?
Wedmore is a wonderful quiet village in Somerset. The ability to spend a few hours here without hearing a single car engine in this modern world is amazing. From someone who lives in an urban environment, I’d never realised how beautiful a bird song is. Having said that, you still have everything you need on your doorstep – pubs, post office, walks, local village shops and many more local amenities.

5) Best things to do in Wedmore and nearby?
Wedmore offers many rural walks that will fill plenty of sunny days. A little further afield are the great cities of Bath and Bristol which offer a never-ending list of activities and events. On top of that, there are many local attractions to visit nearby including Glastonbury Tor, Wells Cathedral and the beautiful Cheddar Gorge.

6) If someone is interested in purchasing how can you help?
We have two beautiful Show Homes here but we can always take a walk on site if someone would like to see a specific plot. Buying a new home is a big decision, but at Acorn we work with you to understand your requirements and help you find your dream home.

If you would like more information on the homes at Cross Farm please call us on 01934 806 196 or email crossfarmwedmore@acornpg.org. Alternatively, our Show Homes are open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am – 5pm, where our dedicated team are on hand to answer any questions you may have.
