Meet the Team at Cubis Bruton

August 19, 2020

Working from our Cubis Bruton development in the trendy Somerset town of Bruton, we’d like to introduce you to our brilliant Sales Negotiator, Celia. As part of our ‘Meet the Team’ series, Celia chats to us about her favourite elements of these contemporary rural homes and recommends some of the best places to visit in Bruton and the surrounding area.

1) What do you like about working at Cubis Bruton?
Firstly, I meet many people, all of whom have a strong engagement with this type of design and architecture. Also, as I work in the Show Home which is a beautiful light and airy house, I’m lucky to have an office looking out over the stunning garden (by local designer Judy Cole). It’s such a treat to be around this.

2) What do you most like about the homes being built?
It has to be the light which floods into the rooms through the large windows, all of which are triple glazed, so the thermal insulation is outstanding. I feel it is incredibly important to insulate and build houses which have energy conservation as one of the main features. It’s excellent that many sustainable materials have been incorporated into the build of the homes at Cubis as this can benefit us all.

3) What’s your favourite home and why?
Plot 64 – a 4 bedroom detached house at the end of the development. The main attraction for me is that nearly every window has a delightful view of trees which makes the house feel very peaceful.

4) Why do you think this is a great place to live?
Bruton has gone through quite an evolution since the opening of the Hauser & Wirth gallery a few years ago which has brought a terrific cultural vibe to the area with lots going on. We are also very close to The Newt In Somerset – an incredible country house and estate with a wonderful farm shop and cider brewery. The homes at Cubis Bruton fit in so well with all of this – modern and rural with an edgy, contemporary feel.

5) Best things to do nearby?
For me it has to be Hauser & Wirth – they hold many interesting exhibitions every year and there is a gorgeous garden by Piet Oudolf to wander around, plus a very good bar and restaurant. The Newt also has stunning gardens, walks, restaurants and a newly opened Spa.

6) Favourite things to do in Bruton or the surrounding areas?
Head for At The Chapel which serves brilliant pizza and also has a very good restaurant and bakery. Babington House is only a 10 minute drive from Bruton, which offers a great restaurant, swimming pool, gym and cinema room. I’m also looking forward to trying Osip, which has been opened by Bruton’s first Michelin starred chef and is a tiny farm to table restaurant, with a set menu each day of locally foraged food.

7) If someone is interested in purchasing how can you help?
I can take them around the Show Home which really demonstrates the design attributes of Cubis Bruton, then we can look around the site to study which house may be of special interest to them. We have all the designs, brochures and plans in the Show Home and I’d be very happy to discuss their options. If they have a house to sell, I can talk them through Acorn’s Assisted Move scheme which is in place to help customers find a buyer for their existing property, allowing them to reserve more quickly.

If you would like more information on the homes at Cubis Bruton please call us on 01749 598088 or email cubissales@acornpg.org. Alternatively, our Show Home is open daily where our dedicated team are on hand to answer any questions you may have.
