Meet the Team at The Links

May 19, 2022

With summer on the horizon, have you been thinking about moving to a new home on the coast? Overlooking the Blue Flag awarded surfing hotspot of Rest Bay, we spoke to Rebecca and Sue, our Sales team at The Links about why so many have made the move to this award-winning scheme and some of the best things to do locally.

1) What do you like about working at The Links?

Rebecca: The Links is an incredible location, positioned just a stone’s throw from the coast of Rest Bay with panoramic views out to sea. The development is a pleasure to talk about as the location is so idyllic and this coupled with the fantastic renovation of the Grade-II listed building, against the striking new build element of the scheme, is really quite special.

Sue: I agree it has to be the stunning location; we are just a moments’ walk from the beautiful beach of Rest Bay and adjacent to the renowned Royal Porthcawl Golf Club. This popular holiday destination is renowned for its surf but has something to offer in all seasons.

2) What do you like most about the homes being built?

Rebecca: The exceptional high-quality and specification offered within our award-winning homes is second to none. The renovation of the Grade-II listed building has enabled us to create a new use for the pre-existing building making each apartment one of a kind.

Sue: It’s rare for a development to showcase a restored Victorian Grade-II listed building where so many original features have been retained in the design. All the apartments have been finished to a very high standard and elements such as original brickwork, alcoves, and stairways have been beautifully retained.

3) What’s your favourite home and why?

Rebecca: It is hard to say as every home offers a superb specification including contemporary fitted kitchens with integrated appliances, underfloor heating, allocated parking and communal electric car charging. However, my personal favourite is Apartment 50. The high ceilings really accentuate the open plan kitchen/dining/living space which features a lovely breakfast bar. Outside, there is a generously sized terrace, a great space to kick back and relax after a day on the beach.

Sue: It has to be Apartment 18, one of the final homes within the Grade II listed building. The arches and high ceilings all add to the charm of this stunning home and is the last remaining home with a private balcony and views over Rest Bay.

4) Why do you think this is a great place to live?

Rebecca: It’s a totally relaxing and tranquil place to be. Located a short stroll from the shore and Welsh Coast Path, the area is ideal for those who love to surf, walk or simply come here to relax and take in the beautiful surroundings. If that’s not enough, residents can make use of the communal landscaped courtyard within the development which features seating, planting and secure bike storage.

Sue: It’s a quiet spot however you’re still in close reach of local shops and amenities. The development sits adjacent to the prestigious Royal Porthcawl Golf Club, a highly esteemed course recognised as the number 1 golf club in Wales. Surrounded by wide stretching areas of green space, and with the beach so close, there really is no better place to be when the sun shines.

5) Best things to do in Rest Bay and nearby?

Rebecca: The waves at Rest Bay attract people from all over the UK wanting to try out surfing, paddleboarding and more. Just over the road from The Links is the new water sports centre which offers surf hire, lessons and is home to the Porthcawl Surf School and the delightful Rest Bay Café which is a café by day and restaurant by night with a bar offering a wide selection of beverages.

Sue: In Porthcawl you will find the Grand Pavilion which holds a number of shows throughout the year from music to theatre and comedy. There is also an amusement park on Coney Beach which is great if you have kids and are looking to keep them entertained! If you’re seeking something relaxing, there are plenty of local coastal walks including Pink Bay which is just 20 minutes on foot from the development and is a real hidden gem.

6) If someone is interested in purchasing, how can you help?

Rebecca: Come along to our Marketing Suite where we can walk you around the final apartments and show off the high-quality specification of these stunning homes. I always advise on our Assisted Move scheme which allows customers to reserve their dream home with us whilst we work with a local agent to find a buyer for their existing property. Additionally, we can recommend financial advisers and solicitors to ensure the sales process is as stress free as possible.

Sue: We can take you through the reservation process and answer any questions you may have. The homes at The Links offer great return on investment if you’re interested in buying to use as a holiday let, we can talk you through the process and advise expected annual income for each apartment.

Don’t let your coastal dream slip away – There are now just six apartments remaining at The Links! Call the team today on 016 5650 1110 or visit our Show Home open daily from 10am – 5pm.
