Meet the team at The Links

December 20, 2018

We spoke to Julia and Jasmine our sales team at The Links to catch up on the best things to do in Porthcawl, their favourite homes at the development and why life by the coast is so great!

What do you like about working at The Links?

Julia: Being part of the restoration of this historic Grade-II listed building feels very special and it’s amazing to hear the stories from the locals, who all feel very passionately about the building.

Jasmine: It’s been really lovely speaking to local residents who are all so excited that Acorn is taking on the building and breathing new life into something which was a part of their childhood memories.

What do you most like about the homes being built?

Julia: Each and every one of them is unique, with their own character and their own story to tell. For instance, some include mezzanine levels, large bay windows, secondary levels and even private outdoor space.

Jasmine: I really like that the homes offer the benefits of modern living complete with a high-quality specification yet they maintain the feel of the original building and retain much of its original charm.

What’s your favourite plot and why?

Julia: I love Plot 17  because of the sunny balcony from the lounge, with stunning views of Rest Bay. It has it’s own individual lift access, offering privacy and it has also been able to retain the original archway into the hallway and the window seat in the bay window of the apartment.

Jasmine: Plot 6 has the original pitched turret incorporated into the living room and mezzanine level, giving it a spectacularly unique look. The glass roof in the pitch of the turret will be replaced, and the original beam work will be restored, giving it a beautiful distinct look like no other apartment.

Why do you think this is a great place to live?

Julia: Located a short distance from the shore, it offers the very best of seaside living, with activities for everybody of different ages and walks of life. From surfing to superb coastal walks from Rest Bay over to Pink Bay.

Jasmine: I grew up coming to Rest Bay and visiting Coney Beach funfair, and now I bring my children here in the summer and enjoy spending time and doing things together as a family. I would love to be able to open my door every day and step out and enjoy the unique coastal views that The Links offers, and I think that is what attracts most people to the area.

Best things to do nearby?

Julia: Enjoying the famous Fish & Chips from Beale’s, Donkey walking on the beach in the summer, eating ice-cream from the ice cream van on Rest Bay, Surfing along the coastline, with the surf school building being built as we speak.

Jasmine: Next to the development is the Royal Porthcawl Golf Club, perfect for those who enjoy a game of golf with beautiful views. The Grand Pavillion in Porthcawl also offers various theatre performances throughout the year.

Favourite things to do in Porthcawl or surrounding areas?

Julia: Walks across the beach, taking dogs for a walk across the nature trails. The local bus stop takes you into Bridgend and Cowbridge, both of which have much to offer in terms of shops, activities and places to eat with family and friends.

Jasmine: Porthcawl is a short journey to both Swansea and Cardiff, which offers unrivalled shopping facilities, historical buildings and many events in The Principality Stadium and the Motorpoint Arena. Cardiff airport is only 40 minutes away, and Porthcawl is situated in the middle of the M4 corridor, giving it great links to the rest of Wales and the West with ease.

If someone is interested in purchasing how can you help?

Julia: We can offer lots of advice on the different apartments and show people the potential of an investment or a second home here, as well as what living in Porthcawl has to offer.

Jasmine: We welcome everyone to come and visit us at the marketing suite where we can show off our specification, floorplans and not to mention the spectacular views overlooking Rest Bay!

If you’d like to find out more about The Links get in touch today or visit us at the Marketing Suite in Porthcawl. Open daily 10am – 5pm. Rest Bay, Porthcawl CF36 3UP
