Show Home Spotlight: Bookers Edge

December 13, 2018

If you’re in the market for a new home with a stunning rural outlook, then why not visit our fantastic Bookers Edge development in the charming town of Hay-on-Wye.

Our Eliot Show Home, a 4-bedroom detached house perfectly exemplifies what you can expect from life at this exclusive development. Modern in design yet ideally situated to enjoy rural living; the homes at Bookers Edge benefit from open plan kitchen/dining spaces as well as more intimate living rooms. Featuring Kuhlmann kitchens with Minerva worktops and integrated appliances, the homes have been finished to an exceptional standard with impressive windows allowing natural light to stream in. Other features include private gardens, allocated parking and garages.

The design of the Show Home was based around semi-rural living with a target market of young families, downsizers and those looking for a second home. The interior was designed by Kim Harvey Interiors who presented a scheme that was clean and contemporary with a nod to Scandinavian style living.

Kim commented on the thinking behind the interior design: “We wanted the space to appeal to a broad age range, so stuck to neutral base tones to the main living areas which ensured there was good flow from room to room, whilst the natural timbers used in the furniture and accessories added warmth. Use of soft brass/gold features in furniture, picture frames and lighting were used to add a touch of luxury while light fabrics on sofas and metal framed coffee and side tables were used to ensure the rooms remained as spacious as possible. Black features and simple clean-lined furniture gives a nod to the Scandinavian clean living.”

This collection of homes has been thoughtfully designed so that the terraced and semi-detached homes are in-keeping with the surrounding Victorian properties, while the detached barn-style properties reflect contemporary rural living. The natural materials used mean they sit comfortably within picturesque Hay-on-Wye as well as its rural, agricultural setting.

Bookers Edge, a collection of twenty-five, 2, 3 & 4 bedroom homes, close to the River Wye is situated in an idyllic spot, with the town itself offering plenty to do with more than 40 bookshops, art galleries, craft shops, weekly markets and the famous Hay Festival.

The Show Home is open Thursday to Monday 10 am – 5 pm (Sunday by appointment only) – we can’t wait to meet you!
