Supporting Local Children’s Charities with Bolingey Barbarians Rugby Club

March 17, 2022

Last weekend (13th March) the Bolingey Barbarians took on Penryn XV at Penryn Rugby, the oldest rugby club in Cornwall which celebrates its 150th anniversary this year.

Neil Blight, Assistant Site Manager and Wayne Rundle, Project Coordinator for our Blue team in Newquay have been playing for the Bolingey Barbarians for many years, based in Penryn, Cornwall which supports a number of local children’s charities through their matches.

In the name of charity, each match ends in a draw and is followed by a trip to the Bolingey Inn where old traditions of post-match rugby take place over a tasty meal. It is during these sessions that monies are raised, by different means, for the Club’s selected charities, with an impressive raffle and auction organised last weekend.

As one of the proud sponsors of the Club, we were delighted to have provided 44 pairs of shorts which are then offered to the players to purchase, with all proceeds raised for charity. As you can see, they made an appearance at last weekend’s game!

Well done to all the players involved, we look forward to hearing about your next game.
