Events
Get involved in the arts and join The Creation Station’s ‘Paint and Sip’ evening at Livro Lounge for £26 on August 13th and enjoy a complimentary drink while you get creative. Or why not learn about the science of plant culture at the Nailsea & District Horticultural Society summer show on August 2nd.
For sampling some classic Somerset food and beverage delights, check out the Farmers’ Market on the high street on August 16th. And town favourite the Ring O’Bells has reopened this summer for all your refreshment needs.
You’ll be spoiled for choice on the August bank holiday weekend. Trendlewood Community Festival is set to bring families and friends together with a range of locally sourced food stalls, live music, and kids’ activities on the 23rd of August, and in the evening you can carry on the fun with some live music and local cider at The George at Backwell.
Are you a fan of locally brewed beer? Bristol-based brewery Wiper & True will have a tap takeover at Downings Bar on the 24th August too.
Live music events run all through the summer at Downings Bar and Nailsea Social Club, as well as Livro Lounge.
Explore the great outdoors
Make the most of the gorgeous summer weather in this picturesque town’s abundance of green spaces!
Yoga in the park with Heidi runs every other Sunday until the end of August, as well as her regular weekly sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Tithe Barn.
The surrounding area has wonderful places to soak in the sun. Just a short drive away Clevedon Marine Lake is great for a cooling dip, whilst Backwell Lake & Nature Reserve is a brief walk from Bucklands Place for a stroll among wildlife. Why not get active and cycle along the Bristol to Bath Railway Path, connected to Nailsea via the stunning Strawberry Line.
The Balloon Fiesta runs over the weekend of the 8th-10th of August, at Ashton Court Estate in nearby Bristol, and makes for a lovely day out with the family, as does a trip to National Trust site Tyntesfield, or Noah’s Arc Zoo Farm.

For the Kids
This summer keep the kids busy with Nailsea Town Council’s packed summer list of exciting activities including a weekly scavenger hunt. There is also an exciting summer art competition with 16 prizes up for grabs!
Bring the family together for the Mini Olympics at Grove Sports Centre on August 1st, or the Sports Day on August 5th.
M.O.M Play Space also has a packed social schedule for parents and children to enjoy together, with events, including princess and superhero parties, running all the way up to the end of August.
Nailsea’s location also offers the best of both worlds, community-led suburban living with everything you need on your doorstep and just a stone’s throw from the city. With the city of Bristol nearby you can benefit from all it has to offer too this summer.
