In 1995, Acorn Property Group was founded by a small team in London with a bold vision to challenge convention in housebuilding. Thirty years later, that vision has grown into a multi award winning legacy of homes and communities across London, the South West and South Wales, all built on Acorn’s ethos of being “Different by Design.”
Three Decades of Distinctive Developments
Over the last three decades, Acorn has delivered thousands of homes that combine architectural integrity with sensitivity to their surroundings. Each project is designed on its own merits, ensuring it enhances both the lives of its residents and the wider community.

From Brandon Yard on Bristol’s historic harbourside and The Links at Rest Bay in Porthcawl, recognised for their balance of restoration and modern design, to The Liner in Falmouth, which represents contemporary coastal living, and St Leonards Quarter in Exeter, which transformed the former Deaf Academy site into sustainable new homes, Acorn has consistently delivered places with character and purpose.

Building a Sustainable Future with Acorn Green
Sustainability is at the core of Acorn’s future vision. The company launched Acorn Green, its long term environmental initiative, to ensure that sustainability is considered at every stage of development. This includes low carbon construction methods, biodiversity led landscaping and the integration of renewable energy.
Practical steps already in place include:
- Enhanced insulation and air source heat pumps
- Greener travel planning
- Community gardens and shared green spaces
As Julian Hampson, Group Design Director and Acorn Green Ambassador, explains:
“Acorn Green is about designing for tomorrow, not just today.”
A Future Built on People and Places
Acorn’s independence has been a key part of its success. Remaining agile and community focused has enabled the group to work closely with housing associations, local authorities and regional stakeholders to create developments that genuinely reflect local needs.
“Our independence allows us to remain agile, personal and driven by what we value most, quality, sustainability and social impact,” says Melanie Omirou, Executive Group Managing Director.
Looking to the Next 30 Years
As Acorn enters its fourth decade, the group is expanding its presence across the Cotswolds and South West, with a focus on revitalising heritage buildings and creating sustainable neighbourhoods for the future.
For Acorn, growth is not about scale, it is about impact. With a continued commitment to sustainability, design innovation and community, the next 30 years promise to be as inspiring as the last.
