Gatcombe Orchard is set on the northern edge of the Mendip Hills in Wrington. This Somerset village has a strong sense of community and an easy rhythm to everyday life. With Bristol in easy reach, the new homes make for the perfect countryside retreat without losing connection.

We caught up with Sarah, our Sales Advisor at Gatcombe Orchard, about her favourite features of the new homes and what makes Wrington such a great place to live.

1) What do you like about working at Gatcombe Orchard?

Number one is easy – I am currently typing at my computer, doors open, with a cacophony of birdsong! Despite being busy with enquiries, it is incredibly relaxing working environment here.

Secondly, we have a jar of dog biscuits we are always having to top up, as our existing canine residents will not pass our Marketing Suite without a ‘woof and hello!’

2) What do you like most about the homes being built?

There is such a range of homes on offer, with a variety of house types from 2 to 4 bedrooms, each bespoke with finishes of beautiful Scandinavian pine and textured brickwork exteriors. Not to mention the eco credentials – we have Solar PV panels, EV charging and underfloor heating. It’s always lovely to feel the warm underfloor heating on your toes after stepping into a Show Home.

3) What’s your favourite home and why?

House 9 has an indulgently spacious main bedroom, taking up the whole of the top floor. Floor-to-ceiling windows allow the light to flood in and the space allows for so many different options. You could have a yoga or art studio, an oversized bank of wardrobes, or just more open space to relax in! There’s a Show Home of this style so you can come and take a look!

2) What are the benefits of a new build home?

There are a lot of clever design features, including the fabric of the building which has enhanced insulation to ensure the home is energy-efficient. Every house is predicted to have an EPC rating of A, which helps towards lower running costs.

With a new-build home you can free yourself at the weekends from DIY or maintenance and have time to focus on who or what is important to you!

4) Why do you think this is a great place to live?

Being set back and elevated from the main road allows for some gorgeous views, quieter living and yet, you can walk into the village within 12 minutes! Wrington is the kind of village that makes you feel at home the moment you arrive. There’s a fantastic welcoming community and friendliness is woven into everyday life. There are several eateries to choose from and many arty and curious, independent businesses to pootle around in.

5) Best things to do in Wrington and nearby?

The Barley Wood Walled Garden and Café opens in spring and is a joy to visit. Mother Hen Café sits proudly in the centre of Wrington, offering delicious home-made cakes and gifts – after all those treats, you can choose from football, bowls, tennis or the skate park!

6) If someone is interested in purchasing, how can you help?

Please do just get in touch and I would be delighted to show you around, and you are more than welcome to come with friends or family.

We are here to help and guide our customers without pressure. Sometimes it’s hard to know exactly what you want, and moving house can feel overwhelming, but we’re here to help ease the process.

We have two fabulous Show Homes which demonstrate the high-quality specification on offer. If you have a property to sell, our Assisted Move scheme is in place so you can reserve your new home with us, and we will help sell your current property – making it as stress-free as possible.
