Walks in the city – London

London is great to explore on foot. Steeped in history, superb architecture and riverside and parkland walks, discover cobbled streets, quaint cafes and vibrant bars. You could finish the day on the South Bank near our Trilogy SE1 and Pope Street developments.

Here’s our selection of top London walks:

The South Bank

Starting at Westminster Bridge, this walk takes you over the River Thames and along the riverside towards the Tate Modern crossing back over the river via the Millennium Footbridge and finishing at St Paul’s Cathedral. Along the route, you will pass numerous attractions including the London Eye, Southbank Centre, Oxo Tower and two theatres; Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and The Royal National Theatre. Parkland and garden walks

London has many large parks and public open spaces which add rich green colour to the city’s landscape. Pack a picnic and commence your walk at St James’ Park underground station you have the opportunity to visit many attractions including Buckingham Palace, Constitution Hill, Hyde Park and the Serpentine Gallery and Kensington Palace on this walk which ends in the tranquil Italian Gardens of Kensington.

The Square Mile walk

Discover London’s medieval past with a walk back in time down cobbled streets and narrow alleyways which wind around the city’s most historic areas. Starting at St Paul’s Cathedral and heading to the final destination at Monument underground station, enjoy the historic architecture of the Guildhall, the church of St Stephen Walbrook, The Bank of England, the Royal Exchange and Leadenhall Market. You will also pass the Gherkin and Lloyd’s of London before ending at The Monument. Extend this walk a little further and cross over London Bridge, a finish the day at the by booking in at the spectacular The Shard.
