Acorn London has been granted planning consent for a striking new development of high-quality homes and commercial space at a prominent site in Acton, West London.
The 2,220 sqm scheme on King Street will comprise twenty-six homes and 551 sqm of commercial space, which could include offices or a gym and retail space. Planning consent for the project was granted by Ealing Council on 25th April 2018.
Designed by architects and interior designers Life-U Design, the development will include a new build element which will be integrated with the existing building. The existing block will be upgraded and refurbished to meet the latest energy efficiency standards. Key features will include large terraces and balconies, floor-to-ceiling glazing, green roofing, copper cladding, as well as underfloor heating, energy saving lighting and solar panels. The new properties will offer studios, 1, 2 & 3 bedroom apartments and have been designed to appeal to local families, students and young professionals.
The redevelopment of this prominent site is a perfect opportunity to improve the architectural quality of an existing property and help transform this busy thoroughfare. The scheme will provide much-needed new housing and commercial space whilst paying careful attention to the character and history of the local area to ensure it complements its surroundings.
Work will start later this year with completion expected in mid-2020.
