Meet the Team at Cottrell Gardens

January 25, 2022

Thinking of purchasing a home in the country this year? Look no further than Cottrell Gardens in Bonvilston. Working from our Marketing Suite, we catch up with our Sales Advisors Sharon and Amy on what makes the development such a great place to live and why life in the Vale of Glamorgan is worth the move.

1) What do you like about working at Cottrell Gardens?

Sharon: Over the past two years it has been great seeing the development progress and grow, being able to see each unique house type form the new neighbourhood. The feedback from visitors has been very positive making Cottrell Gardens a very rewarding workplace.

Amy: I like that every day is different – I get such a buzz from helping customers find their dream home. It’s great seeing people get on to the property ladder for the first time and then we have other customers who are either downsizing or looking for something different. In my eyes, buying a home is one of the most exciting things to do! I bought my first home aged 19 many moons ago and to this day, I will never forget the lady who helped me and guided me through the process.

2) What do you like most about the homes being built?

Sharon: Each home is unique however the common theme is all about space and maximum natural light which floods each home. Almost everyone comments on the higher ceiling heights which is unusual for a new build.

Amy: The homes we are building are beautiful and their bespoke design really stands out from many other new builds. What I think is really important though is the sustainability of the homes. Each property has an EPC rating of B and is complete with a number of eco features including infrastructure pre-installed to every garage to aid future installation of electric car charging, high performance window systems and underfloor heating. As a result, our customers can benefit from reduced running costs of up to 30% compared to the average UK home, all while lowering their carbon footprint – win win!

3) What’s your favourite home and why?

Sharon: The C type is my favourite, with a large welcoming hallway and plenty of space throughout the home. The top floor features a bedroom suite, with space for a home office. In fact, all the remaining homes in Phase 1 have studies giving you all the room you need for the perfect work/life balance.

Amy: Being a busy working mum with two children under seven, family space and storage is a must! The D house type offers 2,063 of square footage with a very open design which flows beautifully. Each home has a fantastic garden, and there is open green space with children’s play area on site – perfect for getting outdoors.

4) Why do you think this is a great place to live?

Sharon: Cottrell Gardens offers a sense of rural living whilst benefiting from great transport links into Cardiff which is just 9 miles away. There are lovely beaches around Llantwit Major and the charming town of Cowbridge is on your doorstep, popular for its independent high street.

Amy: Location, location, location! Situated in the picturesque Vale of Glamorgan, Bonvilston and Cowbridge are some of Wales’ top destinations to live. Located in country surroundings while maintaining good connections into the capital, it really is the best of both worlds.

5) Best things to do in Bonvilston and nearby?

Sharon: For keen golfers, Bonvilston offers the prestigious Cottrell Park Golf Resort, as well as great country walks and a local pub and convenience store, all within a 5-mile drive from the centre of Cowbridge.

Amy: Being in the Vale of Glamorgan, Bonvilston is great for people who love exploring the outdoors. The Glamorgan Heritage Coast is under a 30-minute drive away, a fascinating area of Wales which boasts stunning beaches and historic landmarks such as St Donat’s Castle, Ogmore Castle with stepping stones across the river and Nash Point Lighthouse – all perfect for a family day out!

6) If someone is interested in purchasing, how can you help?

Sharon: Myself and Amy have extensive knowledge of each house type, we can best advise the potential buyer on budget, personal requirements, time frames, suitability, and our Assisted Move scheme.

Amy: I would urge all customers to express interest with either myself or Sharon. Over 70% of homes have now sold in Phase 1, with a range of 4 and 5 bedroom homes still available.

Don’t delay your move to Cottrell Gardens – Over 70% of Phase 1 is now sold with only a limited number of houses ready to move into by spring! Call the team today on 01446 489 407 to arrange your appointment or visit our Show Home open daily from 10am – 5pm.
